It has a numerous number of tourist spot like putra perdhana and the Tugu Yogyakarta which is a famous landmark in Yogyakarta, it is a monument built to depict the unity of the king with the citizens who fought against the Dutch. The Dutch remodeled the monument in 1889.

The remodeling of the monument was in order to unite the citizens with their king. It has remained the symbol of unity for the local people here. Candi Kalasan also known as Kalasan Temple is located near Candi Prambanan (Prambanan Temple), this temple is located on the southern side of the Prambanan-Yogyakarta road. It is considered as the oldest Buddhist temple in Yogyakarta. It was constructed in 7th century (778 AD) by Rakai Panangkaran of the Sanjaya Dinasty. He was a Hindu but was interested in building Buddhist temple. It was reflected as peaceful religion. The pictures carved here are very beautiful. The wall is covered with white cement known as bajralepa. The Kalasan Temple was built as a mark of respect to Dewi Tara (Tara Goddess).
